【摘要】:Therearefourbasicstepsnecessarytoobtainmeaningfulanalyticaldata:preparationofthesamplecontainer,sampling,samplepreservation,andanalysis.Infactthesefourbasicstepscomprisetheanalyticalmethodandforthisreasonnostepshouldbeoverlooked.Althoughthesignificanceofpreservationisdependentuponthetimebetweensamplingandtheanalysis,unlesstheanalysisisaccomplishedwithin2haftersampling,preservationispreferredandusuallyrequired.1.1Thesepracticescoverthevariousmeansof(1)preparingsamplecontainersusedforcollectionofwaterstobeanalyzedfororganicconstituentsand(2)preservationofsuchsamplesfromthetimeofsamplecollectionuntilthetimeofanalysis.1.2Thesamplepreservationpracticeisdependentuponthespecificanalysistobeconducted.SeeSection9forpreservationpracticeslistedwiththecorrespondingapplicablegeneralandspecificconstituenttestmethod.ThepreservationmethodforwaterborneoilsisgiveninPracticeD3325.Useoftheinformationgivenhereinwillmakeitpossibletochoosetheminimumnumberofsamplepreservationpracticesnecessarytoensuretheintegrityofasampledesignatedformultipleanalysis.Forfurtherconsiderationsofsamplepreservation,seetheManualonWater.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,see6.7,6.24,and8.1.3.
